DA1/Catalyst hardware

    Hello all- we're testing how to deploy our DA1s.

    We've successfully tested using Penmap and the Catalyst services on an Android cellular device.

    We also have a few wifi only Android tablets that we'd like to use for the data collector. Our standard field phone is an iPhone. Is it possible to run the catalyst services on the iPhone (for the cellular connectivity) and the Penmap services on the android tablet where the iphone is a wifi hotspot for the android to connect? Our local vendor hasn't seen this before and suggested posting here.

    Hi Rahul Verma,

    thanks for your post.

    You need to run catalyst services on the same device as Penmap.
    However you can run your software on the android device and use the hotspot of your iPhone for internet connection.

    DA2 is available now. It is a far superior device than DA1. I suggest you switch to DA2 right away.
