Trimble Connect for Desktop - Computer Freeze/Crash

    We have an issue with the current version of Trimble Connect for Desktop (1.6.0.126).

    Our computers freeze regulary when Trimble Connect for Desktop is running. The only way to unfreeze is to close Trimble Connect for Desktop.

    With the previous version (1.5.1.102) we hadn't such issues...

     

    Does anyone else have such problems with Trimble Connect for Desktop?

    Hi Michael,

     

    Try review the system requirements and see if your computer specs meet minimum requirements for Trimble Connect Desktop application. Then try uninstall application and reinstall the latest apps from our applications store

     

    If the issue still persists after trying the above, please submit ticket to our support channel connect-support@trimble.com and our support team will help further assists in this issue asap.

    Hi Fern

    We use the latest version and also uninstall/reinstall was tested. The issue still occurs.

    I was just curious if someone else faces the same issues...

     

    Here are the specs of one of the computers.

    Intel i7-6700K 4Ghz.

    32GB RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

    M.2 SSD  MP59 1VNeMS MAUSGN5 21BG 512GB

    Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

    Could you please capture the event logs by following the steps below?

     

    1. Click on the Windows button and right click on My Computer.
    2. Click on Manage.
    3. Click on Event Viewer.
    4. Expand Applications and Service Logs
    5. Select and Right click on Trimble.
    6. Click on Save All Events As...
    7. Name and Save the file to a location you can access.

    Hi Michael,

     

    Could you remove the project, local version only, then restart Trimble Connect Desktop.

    Opening the project now, should download all content again from the server.

    Please note that you should not do this on offline projects aka non-published projects.
