I have been trying to figure out a way to use information from CAD or BC for field applications. I have been recieveing designer CAD files with utility network data within and instead of recreating the wheel we can break down this data so we can stake out in the field. See the attached video.
1. Export the xml data from the Civil CAD file
2. Import XML to BC
3. Export that layer of utility network to dxf.
4. Re-import the dxf and Viola
5. I have not tried to just export the data from Civil 3D it may work that way and cut out the other steps.
