Best performing Android tablets with Catalyst..?

If you are using an Android tablet (or device with a 7 inch+ screen) with Catalyst that is performing well then please share it with the community.

Remember to include useful information such as the battery life, If it's rugged, and the performance.

Trimble resellers can view the recommended device list via their MGIS Partners log in otherwise you should always ensure your device meets (and where possible exceeds for tablets) the minimum specifications we list on the public Android device requirements page

To summarise, your Android phone or tablet must at least meet the following system specifications to run the Trimble Catalyst service:

    • Android 5.0 or higher
    • 64-bit CPU with at least 4x Arm® cores (6x or more Arm cores recommended)
    • Maximum Core speed of at least 1.5 GHz
    • 1.5 GB of RAM or higher

There are several sites you can use to search for your device specifications (quickest way is to google your 'Device + Specs') OR use Trimble Mobile Manager. This tested a device compatibility on installation and will usually fail to install if the minimum specs are not met.

    Tom,

Since the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is no longer available, Are the Tab 5 and Tab 6 compatible with Trimble Catalyst?

    Thanks,

    Jay

    Hi Jay

We are moving away from recommending specific devices as there are simply too many to test thoroughly, we recommend you check your device against the minimum specifications and ensure your's meets or preferably exceeds these. This should cover 99% of cases

Trimble Resellers via the MGIS Partners log in, have access to a device specific sheet (link also above) which you can use to advise your customers with specific examples so take a look at that

    Tom,

I would also like to know if the Galaxy Tab A (10.5) would be compatible with the Trimble Catalyst.

    Thank you,

    Kris

    Hi Kris

Echoing what I posted to Jay above - we encourage you to use the resources provided to gauge if your device will be compatible.

That being said this was pretty easy to google and the Galaxy Tab A (10.5) looks good for use with Catalyst
