Import shapefiles in existing Penmap project

    How do you import shapefiles into an existing Penmap project?

    Is it possible to import shapefiles into a Penmap project after you created it using Penmap Project Manager?

    Hi Alexander

    You cannot import shapefiles into an existing project unfortunately.
    Importing project source data (shapefiles as *.zip, DWG,DXF,CSV) needs to be done when you create a project with the Penmap Project Manager
    Once a project has been created you cannot add more source data to it 


    A short work around for this If you have already created a project with data is to..
    1. Use the Penmap Project manager to export the existing project you wish to add this new source data to as type Penmap Project (*.pdt) 
    2. Create a new project In the Penmap Project Manager
    3. For the Project Source data select the Penmap project file (*.pdt) AND the shapefile (as zip)
    4. This will create a new project with both the 'old' project data and the new shapefile source data you wished to import but could not due to the restrictions mentioned at the beginning
