Android PIN on TDC600

    Hey,

    After I period of inactivity I have gone back to use a TDC600 and on powering up the Android OS is requesting an unlock PIN.

    I do not remember setting a PIN.

    Anybody know if there is a default PIN set?

    Or of course any ideas how I sort this out? There is no data that I need on the handset but at the moment it's a paperweight.

    TDC600 behaves the same as a "normal" Android phone in terms of PINs - it won't ask for a PIN unless you set one. 

    Do you get a "Forgot PIN" option?  If you do, that will ask you to log in with the original Google account you used when setting up the device, then you should be able to clear or replace the PIN.

    Edited 13Feb2023:  One possible last-resort recovery option would be to do a full OS install - OS files and instructions are on the Trimble MCS Downloads site here.  The TDC600v1 and TDC600v2 have different OS loads so make sure you get the right one.  
    NOTE:  Google security rules apply here - when you reinstall the OS, you will need to log in with the original Google account you used when setting up the device.  You can't get around the security rules!

    I also need help resetting my unit and do a complete wipe after lost PIN. How do I go about doing this? Thanks.
