Thanks for the prompt replies.
I checked the service records and find that the internal battery was actually replaced in Mar-2017, and checked during a collimation service in Jul-2020. The sticker on the unit indicates it had a service in Oct-2021, although the records for this have been lost (I thought this may have been a battery replacement). So if the battery is indeed 6years old, I guess that that is a reasonable age and expected life-span for such a battery.
We will book it in for servicing, and expect a Trimble invoice in due course....

Yes, if the instrument is under warranty then you should do it in authorized service. Unfortunately our warranty was expired and we don't have service in Bosnia so we must find solution

Brent,
I agree with Dzevad on the internal battery, however, I recommend having a service provider do the work. This would insure that any warranties would stay active and if anything were to go wrong, it would be able to be worked on.

Our DiNi 0.3 has provided many years of service - it is only used sporadically, but it has been looked after, last serviced in Oct-2021.
Today, when we were prepping it for use, it seems to have failed. After inserting a fully charged battery and switching the Unit on, the screen flashes, and then dies. Same thing happens when connecting it to a PC via the USB cable. The screen stays 'alive' if you hold the on button on, but that is of no help. The internal battery was replaced in 2021, but I think if that was flat the Unit would still turn on at least.
Any ideas what may the the issue? (And if so, if there is a fix?)
Is there are 'cold-boot' sequence for these Units?
Thanks in anticipation of any tips!
