Mapping and GIS Solutions Community

Does Trimble Mobile Manager support the stream from a Trimble R12i, or other Survey grade R series (R10, R10-2, R12).    Now that we have an Android controller (600 or 650) or TSC5, the need to support ESRI Field Maps using TMM is a mechanism to expand the user community (GIS users) who are looking for high precision input into Field Maps.

I'm aware that modern version of TMM supports the DA2.  What about the R10/R12 series of receivers.

In short the answer is yes, TMM does support them, with the caveat that while TMM supports calibration for TIP (tilt compensation), the position output does not include it.

No, the calibration in TMM is purely to recalibrate the internal sensors if they go 'out of whack'. TMM does not utilise the tilt compensation at all, the position you see in TMM will be the actual position of the receiver itself.

Excellent.  So, for now, we tell folks in cases where TMM is used in a Field Maps workflow, to enable the rod bubble (exact term escapes me at this moment), but the technique of calibration of the reciever to a independent bubble level on the rod.  If that is done, then the resultant position from a pole leaned over would be passed thru to TMM.  Do I have that right?

Sorry! No plans for the immediate future. The DA2 has its design and adding an IMU is not easy at all. 
However, always happy to get input and requests for future products!

The DA2 is not designed to be a static receiver. It's simply pay to play based on your accuracy requirements and is only a real-time/RTK receiver. You can do static logging with the Trimble R2 though.

Hi, there are some guidelines to follow with the Survey grade R series GNSS Receivers with ArcGIS Field Maps.

R10: Android only Field Maps

R10 - 2: Android and iOS Field Maps

R12/12i: Android and iOS Field Maps

Side note - the TCS5 Android doesn't support portrait mode for ArcGISField Maps.

So if you use Field Maps with the TSC5 - be prepared for some head tilting in Landscape mode.
