Hello,
I am a very new trimble laser scanner user, recently purchased an x7 and I am going through the process of establishing my workflows. Please feel free to answer any questions like i am a toddler on this beast and point out any layers or anything that I might be missing.
I recently took a training from a trimble expert and he showed me how to do a floor extraction from both using the 6/7 meter on the left hand corner of the screen and how to do a proper floor extraction using the actual tool.
My question is in reference to setting proper elevation. I set up my scanner, scanned it and used the compass to set my scanner to point north and than it asked me to accept the scanner elevation of roughly 5.5 feet. I did not have an control point data to enter so i used an altimeter app to determine my reference elevation was roughly 27.65 feet, manually entered that and told it to accept. I than went down to the icon in the bottom left hand corner, went to 6/7 where its set to elevation data, and it allowed me to change reference elevation or pick a point for elevation, so here do i enter in my rough reference info? Other data? IF i went wrong here in any of my steps, please let me know. Screen shots are attached for reference.
