Satellite Image Quality

Firstly I rate the product very highly (TDC600) I just have two issues. My business has just switched over to Trimble, pretty much inline with most people in the consulting Arborist world. However myself and many other Arborists are having difficulty with the satellite image quality and inaccurate positioning, the GPS location is fine (catalyst .6m) however it still can be out by up toa few metres on the sat image, this combined with poor satellite imagery can make it impossible to distinguish multiple trees within a forest setting.

I'm already hearing a seeing fellow consultants leaving the platform for TreePlotter just because of this one issue. Seems like an easy fix…. Better image quality with updated maps!!

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you let us know a little more about the software you are using (TerraFlex?) and where you are located?

    Many thanks,

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for getting back to me, I'm using the TDC600 alongside TerraFlex and catalyst. NSW Australia.

The system is fast becoming a "must have" tool within the Arboricultural industry, however the satellite image quality and outdated maps are a severe let down, Trimble could dominate the ever growing digital world of Arboriculture and risk management, though the satellite imagery is forcing many to other applications.

    Otherwise the system is flawless.
