Trimble Connect User Forum

Hi,

I have a user who was told by "some representative of a software vendor" that Trimble is telling Trimble Connect users to use and prioritize the browser version because the desktop (for Windows version) is going to be announced obsolete and the development and maintenance is supposedly going to end. 

Can somebody from Trimble confirm this or rebut this?

Hi Frans,

Trimble Connect for Windows will continue to be maintained and supported.  We were exploring options to address the concerns from our customers that the Trimble Connect client apps differ in the features (other than the overlapping features) by moving towards a single application (Progressive Web Application) . However, the latter had performance challenges (that we found during our exploration). 

We continue to work towards achieving feature parity among Trimble Connect client apps with a different approach .  All our native apps (Connect for Windows, Mobile) will continue to be supported.

thank you confirming what I wrote as a hearsay! And a very big thanks for the very quick reply.

I am very happy with all the current clients (even though mobile I  haven't used that much) and would be very sad to see any of them being discontinued! Keep up the good work!
