    Is it possible to add the auto rotation function on the Android application as on the iOS application ?

    Hi Alexandre,

    By auto rotation are you referring to landscape mode for the mobile app ? If that is correct , its on our roadmap.

    If you are referring to something else, can you please provide more details so that we can assess.

    Thank you Darshan, I hope this update will come soon, do you have idea of its release? My colleague who is a fan of Iphone makes fun of Android. More seriously, this feature is essential for everyday use.

    Most welcome. Will keep you and the forum posted when this is made available for Android.

     

    It great to know that this feature is essential for everyday use. One possible scenario that I can think of is viewing the 3D model and carrying out operations. Are there other use cases that you need this for? It would be great if you could share some with us. Knowing facts from users helps us.

    I agree with @Alexandre Collin This feature is much badly needed. We use the tablets to view models on a daily basis and to be able to view in landscape would be very beneficial. Also we view construction drawings on the tablet also and the majority of these documents are printed in landscape pdf so the site teams would benefit from being able to see them on the tablet in the same way.

    Hello Alexandre/Bryan,

    It is a priority item for us. Our UX team will be beginning work on this soon. This will be followed by implementation. The extent of changes for implementation will be huge given that it impacts the entire application. Hence the timeline for achieving the same will be quite substantial.

    Dear Jm,

    There are no updates yet. I am providing the explanation below.

     

    We were working on one solution for the 3D model viewer to solve the issues - post which we had planned to take landscape mode. However, this option is failing in the Sanity cases (basic functionalities) . Hence we are now exploring another approach. Once this works , we will be able to asses the landscape mode. Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Hi Sjaak,
    The support for landscape mode is currently in our backlog.  There were couple of challenges we had to address on a higher priority through 2020 and 2021. Hence this couldn't be taken up.  Going by the current set of ongoing items, we may not be able to take up in 2022 as well.

    When sharing my phone (tablet) on a larger screen, this is really a problem.
    We use this to clarify drawings, discussions with customers, etc...

    Turning off the screen display in the Samsung app for tablets is extremely important for the construction site. Please introduce this feature as soon as possible! People on construction sites always ask about it and complain!

    It also works with the iPad app, as mentioned in other posts.

    We are trying to address this through Progressive Web application. This is a multi year effort. It will take time. The online version of the Progressive Web Application is already available. You can open the Connect for Browser (https://web.connect.trimble.com) in Chrome on the mobile device and install it on the tablet or smartphone. The progressive web app is supported in landscape mode. 

    We are yet to develop the offline capability for the same.
