Trimble sign in page username and password fields not visible

    Hi,

    I am unable login to my Trimble account at id.trimble.com as the username and password fields are not visible on the page. See attached for a screenshot.

    This is happening on Edge, Firefox and Chrome and even in Incognito Mode across all 3 browsers. I have cleared the cache, cookies and even the browser history but nothing seems to work and not sure where to go next.

    I am able to login from a different computer where the username and password fields are visible so it appears to be a pc issue but I can't for the life of me work out why. Any ideas or direction would be really appreciated.

    Thanks for marking contact.

     

    I am but a simple Sketchup Pro user that can't login and not a developer so don't have, or don't know how to get, HAR files or console error reports.

     

    This is a browser or computer problem but I'm hoping that someone in the Trimble Community may have seen this issue as I have not been able to find anything in my searches and don't experience the problem on another computer, but still can't use Sketchup as it's installed locally on the machine with the login problem.

     

    When I open Sketchup on my pc it launches a web browser that should prompt me to login with a username and password, but those fields are blank on every browser that I try on that computer. The page that is giving me all the trouble is id.trimble.com

    Hi Andrew,
    Since you are facing issue with id.trimble.com , our Support team will need these details to re-route it to the appropriate team for investigation. 

    You can find the steps to capture HAR file here . You could also just email to our Support team so that they can get in touch with you to get the HAR details and the web console errors .

    Hi Andrew,

    I had this same issue on Firefox several weeks ago, so I went to Chrome, which worked for a while and then stopped (just this morning) -- which is why I searched for and found this thread. So frustrating, especially if you have a model you've spent a lot of time on and are facing the prospect of never recovering.

    SOLUTION!
    In my case, the issue/solution turned out to be my VPN. If I pause it for a few minutes (and disable the Internet kill switch, so that I still have Internet access), the login fields appear on the Trimble login page, and I'm able to access Trimble/Sketchup.

    Thanks very much for your response Roger. That worked perfectly & I can now login to Sketchup after nearly 2 months of trying.

    As soon as you mentioned VPN I knew you were on to something as I had installed a new VPN client around the same time but hadn't made that connection. 

    I was very disappointed with Trimble's response who closed my ticket after telling me to contact IT??? I was all ready to cancel my subscription so thank you very much for helping me save about 3 years of work. It is really, really, really appreciated.

    Happy to help, Paul. I like Sketchup a lot, but they don't make it easy to get help on things like this, as their response to Andrew showed.

    Thanks Roger for the solution!

    It is really a shame and totally unaceptable for a service like Trimble to just not care and expect their users to also be IT experts. To have a login page that doesn't allow the use of a VPN or Password Manager (yes, the login page is very har to use with a password manager) is just bad service.

    As I whitlisted "cdn.cookielaw.org" in my Ad-Blocking

    the login was working again

    YES! Thanks!

    After hours of searching that was a great hint. In this site there is an ad-blocker installed. In this case "pi-hole". I whitelisted "cdn.cookielaw.org" and the login page worked instantly. There should be an automated hint on the webpage, when trimble encounters such a problem!

    I use a Pi-Hole ad-Blocking. The same problems. Solved by whitlisting "cdn.cookielaw.org". 
    Much appreciated.

    I don't use a VPN so that was not the issue for me. On Mac and using safari had to disable the content blocker for Trimble/ sketchup. Safari> setting for 'sketchup.com' > unchecked enable content blocker. Sign in appeared after this.

    In my experience, if the login field is not displayed, it is because cdn.cookielaw.org is blocked. Which is of course an absolutely stupid solution.
    I had 3 levels that blocked the garbage. 
    1. browser AdBlocker
    2. PiHole DNS filter
    3. hardware firewall
     
    Stop loading external junk, then your users won't have such problems!

    Hoping this may save someone the frustration I experienced: if you use PiHole on your network, you'll need to whitelist trimble.com and sketchup.com. Instant fix for me.
