Hi to everyone, and most important, thank you so much for letting me be part of this community. Let me introduce myself. I am a geologist and I trying to start a small environmental consulting firm, and I am doing consulting work in Argentina(Buenos Aires). In short, I have a Trimble Pro XH receiver with a problem, the firmware is outdated, and I can't use it because the date cannot be modified ..it shows it is in 2013.
Furthermore, I tried updating it following the instructions on the webpage , but I can't get windows to connect with the device I tried using different cables and adaptors , different versions of windows etc. I contacted Runco S.A. https://www.runco.com.ar/. It is the official Trimble representative in Argentina, I wasn't able to obtain a solution. I completely understand my equipment is several years old and is no longer supported. My question is, is there any possibility to install a newer version of
firmware and use this equipment a bit more, if I need to buy a special cable or software I would do so. Or if someone could guide me how to do so or contact someone that would be willing to do the work. I really wish I could do so.
If not, the other question would be if the Trimble Pro 6T/H GPS Receiver Model 98850 Pro Series would be a proper replacement ? If it is still
supported, is it easier to update the firmware, I would imagine. Will it work with for example a TSC2 or similar (Nomad, Juno, etc.) . Please forgive me for all my
questions...your help is really appreciated. I wish I could buy newer equipment from you (I plan to do so ASAP), but I need to start working with what I have in hand in order to do so. Thank you in advance for your time. Regards to all!
