updating and using old equipment

Hi to everyone, and most important, thank you so much for letting me be part of this community. Let me introduce myself. I am a geologist and I trying to start a small environmental consulting firm, and I am doing consulting work in Argentina(Buenos Aires). In short, I have a Trimble Pro XH receiver with a problem, the firmware is outdated, and I can't use it because the date cannot be modified shows it is in 2013.

Furthermore, I tried updating it following the instructions on the webpage , but I can't get windows to connect with the device I tried using different cables and adaptors , different versions of windows etc. I contacted Runco S.A. It is the official Trimble representative in Argentina, I wasn't able to obtain a solution. I completely understand my equipment is several years old and is no longer supported. My question is, is there any possibility to install a newer version of
firmware and use this equipment a bit more, if I need to buy a special cable or software I would do so. Or if someone could guide me how to do so or contact someone that would be willing to do the work. I really wish I could do so.

If not, the other question would be if the Trimble Pro 6T/H GPS Receiver Model 98850 Pro Series would be a proper replacement ? If it is still
supported, is it easier to update the firmware, I would imagine. Will it work with for example a TSC2 or similar (Nomad, Juno, etc.) . Please forgive me for all my
questions...your help is really appreciated. I wish I could buy newer equipment from you (I plan to do so ASAP), but I need to start working with what I have in hand in order to do so. Thank you in advance for your time. Regards to all!

There is no Trimble firmware for Pro XH which will work correctly today.  Note that the GPS receiver works fine, the only problem is with the date, so if you just want position a Pro XH should be fine.

I expect that Pro6 still works correctly but I have not tested it.
