when I try to start a new file in the GeoXH: The Terrasync pops up: You can not open a file until the system time is set correctly. Connect to GPS to set the system time. the Terrasync time reverts to 2000.

    Having trouble starting a new file in Terrasync:

     

    When I open Terrasync, go to data follow the start a new file sequence then up pops a memo stationg:

     

    "You can not open a file until the system time is set correctly. connect to GPS to set the system time. 

     

    I have the windows mobile time set to today then when Trimble terrasync opens it reverts back to a date in 2000.

    Same problem - there doesn't seem to be anyone who can solve/explain it however

    I to have this issue with a 2005 GeoXT.  I set the time and date in windows, but as soon as the GPS receiver connects, the system date reverts to 12/28/2000.  When I check the almanac, it too is dated December 2000.

    I found this and am going to try it.  Might help you too.

    Check the almanac date in TerraSync

    1. Open TerraSync on the mobile device
    2. Make sure the GPS connects
      • If inside you will see a Satellite Icon with a zero next to it
    3. Navigate to theStatus Menu
    4. On the sub-menu (usually is Skyplot), use the drop down arrow to Select Receiver
    5. Check the Almanac date
    6. If older than one month complete the following
      • Got to the Setup Menu
      • Click on Options
      • Select Reset GPS Receiver
      • Set the unit outside with a clear view of the sky and wait for 12 – 15 minutes to obtain a new almanac.

    unfortunately for me it still downloaded the Feb 2001 almanac.

    Any updates on this issue? I'm having the same problem on 3 GEO XTs. If I reset the receivers and then sit them outside they connect to satellites, but after 10-20 minutes they revert back to an old almanac rather than loading a new one.

    Could Trimble make a version of terra sync that could be loaded onto old Geo XTs like mine allowing them to download a new almanac and be useable?

    A workaround is to connect the handheld to your windows PC running Windows Mobile Device Center. Put the handheld in the cradle and restart it. It will sync the time from the PC. While still in the cradle, start TerraSync and create the datafile. Now it can be taken out and used in the field. BUT - the time will be incorrect and the datafile can not be post-processed. I believe that all real-time corrections will be applied. If the handheld can't be brought back to the office between sessions, an existing datafile can be re-opened and features created.

    1.      Allumez votre appareil

    2.      aller au menu configuration pour déconnecter le GPS

    3.      en suite aller aux paramètres / système pour changer la date

    4.      en suite vous activez terrasync pour créer un fichier

    5.      c'est après qu'il faut retourner à configuration pour reconnecter le GPS

    2.      go to the configuration menu to disconnect the GPS

    3.      then go to the settings in the system suite to change the date by activating terrasync to create a file

    4.      it is after that you have to return to configuration to reconnect the GPS
