Thanks for your reply! Sorry for the delay - I was on vacation. I am very new to this, but I think that canopy may not be so much of an issue here as it is in other places since we are working in a dry forest with short trees (rarely more than 6m high) without thick canopies, as well as cactus that go straight up. The trees are also spaced far apart in many cases. We will be able to work with waypoints with lower resolution, but it will require some more effort (ie bringing a map with us in the field). We can also, say, always take the waypoint 2m south of the tree (choose trees without vegetation 2m south) since we can choose which trees to include in the analysis for ground-truthing to be used for the AI for species recognition.

Like to see if what you refer to as a park and tree mapping if you have canopy. USFS USDA Forest Service Global Positioning System: MTDC Accuracy Reports has not tested the DA-2, but thats my first go-to if you have canopy. If Trimble can weigh in on under-canopy accuracies, that would be beneficial to others in light of PPP where internet is not possible.
Like to see what the trees overhead look like. Maybe this could be done with a good WAAS/Galileo chipset for no subscription. The geo's are right over head, but that part of the world is tricky being close to the equator and atmospheric distortions.

The Trimble DA2 with CAT10 or CAT30 subscription. you can do yearly or monthly. Terraflex data collection software works well without cell coverage.
That region is not in a FAST network, so convergence times will be a little longer.

Hi, I need to ground-truth tree species (ideally 50cm accuracy) in a national park in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean that has limited cellular network. Which products do you recommend for the best budget (I work for the non-profit that manages the park)?
