Can the Header Image Automatically Adjust to Visible Range of Distance Axis?

For a project I am on I have defined my distance scale using mileposts.  The distance is from MP -9.5 to -7.0.  I have inserted an image in the header and sized it to align with the distance scale.  What I would like to be able to do is when I adjust the cell setting of my view to display a smaller potion of the overall distance, say between -8.5 to -7.0, I want the image in the header to automatically adjust to match, only showing between -8.5 to -7.0 of the image.  Is that possible, and if so, how?

Dear Antony,

pleas assure:

1. The cell in which you inserted the image is from Type DISTANCE CELL:

2. The image itself then has to be scaled along the distance axis:

(select the image and go to Position Tab).

Please also sssure, that either the distacne scale cell AND the distance image cell is having the Time-location cell as the distance master cell. (That should be default if you have used one of the embedded template iles).

After doing that the cell/image is behaving as desired: If you change the visible area in the time-location-cell, then both distance cells (scale and image) are displaying the same area and the image is adjusted.

Thorsten, thank you, that gets me close to what I want, but there are still two issues with this process.  First, let me clarify that the total distance of this project is from Milepost -15 to +19.  The project spans a section of track that was originally built several decades ago by two different rail companies, but today is now own by one.  Because two different companies built the track, the Milepost markers were not consistent.  The mileposts for the western portion of the track go from -15 to -7.  At that point, the mileposts readjusts, and go from -8.3 to +19 for the eastern portion of the track.  Basically Milepost -7 for the western portion of the track is the same point as Milepost -8.3 for the eastern portion of the track.  I know, its confusing.

Anyway, since I need to show both scales in my view, I created two sub-projects, one for the Eastern side and one for the Western side, with their unique distance scale. I am including an image to show where the point the mileposts change.

Going back to my original question, I need to do this twice, one for the western side and again for the eastern side.

My first issue, starting with the western side and following your instructions, when I changed the distance scale to from -15 to -7 to -9 to -7, the image did adjust, but not in the matter I wished.  I wanted to continue to see the entire height of the image, but only from -9 to -7, but instead the image appeared to zoom in on the image, showing only the top of the image.

My second issue, when I repeated the steps for the eastern side, the graphic appears in both the header above and in the distance scale underneath.  On the western side, following the same steps, that doesn’t happen.

I greatly appreciate the help you have given me so far, and hope you can help me resolve this completely.
