Distance Scale - Display Items based on Relative Coordinates

Good morning all,

I'm struggling to figure out if I'm doing something wrong, or if TILOS just isn't responding correctly. I have a couple sector profiles that I'm trying to display as distance scales. One uses the distance scale from the Integrated View Range, and another uses an equation to calculate the relative distance scale for it to be positioned on the view. The equation seems to be properly calculating the relative distance in the sector profile, however when I try to display this sector profile, no combination of options that I have tried will display the items in the sector profile.

The view range for this display is between 200+000 and 213+000

Sector Profile w/ Equation Applied calculating Relative Distances within the Range

Distance Line Scale Properties

I've tried various combinations of View Range / Zero-Point (from -100+000 to +300+000) and Equation Options checkbox options, and I still cannot see any of the items in the sector profile. I've even turned off the equation in the sector profile and tried to adjust the zero-point and view range there.

The only thing I can think is that maybe I'm using the equation properties incorrectly, however that is working to generate the expected Relative distance in the sector profile item distances, so I'm stumped there as well.

Anyone have a similar situation that they've managed to solve.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Just an update. After much time wasted playing with it, I'm convinced that the use of equations in the Distance Scale line properties does not work with Sector & Distance displays. When I applied it to a non-profile based line, it calculated the relative distance just fine using the equation.

My solution was to use the relative distance column to display the actual stationing in my distance profile, and place the relative distance where TILOS could actually reference it in the profile. Hopefully this doesn't come back to bite me for future needs.

Ryan, yes you are (partly) right:

Equation was primarily created to have inside the Task properties for each task a second distance field.
As to the nature of the equation defined inside Tilos it is not possible to enter all the possibie cases appearing in reality.

When I di want to display equations in the distanc scale, I personally do not use equations, but I creeate an own distance/sector profile that integrates the internal distance scale and the value (equation) I want to display at this point.
So then I just display this profile in the scale and that's it.
