How to add Property sets to BIM objects in TC

Greetings,

I want to create my own properties in my TC projects. It works fine until my custom properties need to be applied to objects.
Do we really need to manually select objects in the 3D viewer and then add properties with the panel header?

It is not possible to add theses properties to a whole model at the begining of a project?
If this is not possible, then the current workflow does not work, because IFC models evolve a lot during the project, new objects are constantly added to the IFC files. I cannot check and manually add properties  each time an IFC model is updated by a user.

Thank you for your help,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,
Thanks for sharing the feedback. It is currently not possible to add the properties to the whole model at the beginning of the project.
At the moment, you could try the "Area selection mode" which lets you select the entire model  and subsequently add the properties.

Hi Olivier,

It sounds like the new Rule Based Organizer would be helpful in this scenario. With the rule based organizer, you can use the rule based group to detect newly added objects and get them into your selection more quickly.

Please see the Rule Based Organizer video here

and the user guide here.

Best regards,
Jari

Hello @Darshan Rajaram Kamat and @Jari Juntunen

Thank you for your answers but unfortunatly these really don't work for me.
I have several projects and in each projects several IFC models that are updated each week.
I really can't spend time everyday to carefully select new objects in each models to add the customs properties.

It seems essential to be able to quickly add properties that automatically propagate to an entire model, and also to the future versions of this model.

Just like in Tekla Structure or in Revit, when we add customs attributes, we don't have to add them manually to each instance of any new objects created, that would be quite tedious...

I hope you will implement this quickly.

Regards,
Olivier
