 Toolbar for the web app also in the mobile app

From our construction site technicians, I often receive the question of whether it's possible to create dimensions in the mobile app.

I know that it's possible on the web app in 2D, but I don't see it anywhere in the mobile app.

Is it possible to have the toolbar that is in the web app for 2D drawings also available in the mobile app for 2D drawings.

This would make working from the app much easier.

I would like to know if this is possible?

Hi Coen,

Unfortunately , we don't have dimensioning in Connect for Mobile native app. 

Our suggestion would be to use the Connect for Browser installed on the mobile device and use the dimension feature.  Connect for Browser is available as a Progressive Web Application, so you can download the app from Chrome browser on Android device.

Hi Darshan,

Through the internet on your iPhone, you cannot open the Views, so it doesn't work quite smoothly.

I don't understand why it hasn't been added to the app.

There are probably more companies facing similar issues; the app lacks certain functionalities for workplace use.

What is the reason for having fewer features in the app when it is expected to be used more?

Thanks for the valuable feedback and inputs. We hadn't got  requests on the Mobile app around the 2D Viewer. Duly noted.

Will this be adjusted in a short period, or have you just noted this and don't plan to take any action?

Otherwise, we may need to consider looking for an alternative solution.

Hi Coen,

Providing some context so that you get clarity on how we are trying to address the differences between Trimble Connect client applications. 

Connect for Browser, Mobile and Windows were traditionally three separate applications and over a period of time we have brought them closer in terms of feature parity. We plan to have complete feature parity between the client applications by having a fully functional Progressive Web Application (PWA) - the online version of which is already available in Connect for Browser (that can be installed on Mobile device or Desktop) from Chrome, Edge , Safari browsers. However, this will take time given the diversity of the user scenarios we need to address. 

So your feedback helps us that we are on right track. It also helps us to understand that you are facing issues on iPhone with views. So we will test and explore ways to resolve those issues. However, there is no short term solution for this .

We don't intend to introduce measurements in the Connect for Mobile native app 2D viewer in immediate future.  I am being transparent here so you can decide on your next steps.
