I have a customer that would like to take an existing ssf file back into the field for updates. They would like to add features to the data dictionary before going back into the field. How can I update a data dictionary for an existing ssf?
Can you give more specifics about the .SSF workflow, what Trimble software are you using to to edit the .ddf file?
I have sent you a email.
Thanks for responding Adam,
Been a while since I have had to dive into Pathfinder. Here is what I
have. I am working with a small municipality who has been collecting data

multiple data files all over the place. I have combined them into one data
I have two separate questions.
1. They want to be able to go out and add new data to that same data
file. They want to be able to navigate back to assets when necessary.

to add more features to the data dictionary. How can I add them and still
have it associated with that existing ssf file?
2. The previous features in the data dictionary had a file feature (photo)
field. But since the last consultant had projects and data files all over
the place, the pathways to the photos are all different. Since I
combined the multiple datafiles together, the file attribute is now a text
field. Is there a way to change a text field into a file (photo) field
again? I can take care of the pathways to the photos, but its still in a
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance

I'm going to take this question off the community forum since it would be better addressed in a support ticket.
1. An .SSF file created by a data dictionary file (.ddf) can not be updated with another separately created .ddf file.
2. Your customer can access the here.
