Does anyone else have problems with the R1 receiver connecting via Bluetooth to the iPad automatically? I have to do it manually each time.
Unlike let's say a Bluetooth headset that is paired with only a single device, the R1 GNSS Receiver is designed to be shared.
Having every device that has ever been paired to it automatically trying to connect when in reach and compete for a connection would cause a mess.
Instead, all you have to do e.g. in iOS after you have done the initial Bluetooth pairing want to reconnect again later and is to go into >Settings, select >Bluetooth and in the list of devices underneath >My Devices click on the R1 unit listed.
Does it have the current Firmware? There is a new Firmware 5.03. Just released.
I will check. Updated firmware few months ago.
I have Android 4.4.2 on an ASUS FonePad 8 that comes with an INTEL 64 bit processor and the app freezes when opened. I upgraded my ASUS to firmware 5.4 OS and the app still freezes when launched.
That is what I have been doing. I just like having the fewest possible steps for the guys in the field. Having it connect automatically would be one less thing for them to remember. We just use ipad and one R1 reciever
