I have a R8 model 3 and I wanna process the static survey and collecting data for 30 mins, how can I make it? I try that before, but the panel always told me the antenna is defined as R10.
You said the panel says, what panel are you talking about? Are you connecting to the R8 with a controller? If so what software?
I used TSC3 panel, but I connect the gps with Bluetooth. I still try to figure out how to use the receiver keep working even I disconnect the with the panel and come back download the data from the receiver.
Hello Steven, yes the term "panel" is confusing us.If you have your Trimble R8-3 is configured using GPS configurator software to log the raw data for static processing, then all you need to do is to switch on the receiver. It will log the data as long it is switched on (Note that while you start to work in RTK mode the static mode will be automatically disabled). The antenna type should be automatically displayed in TBC while you import these raw data.
You can download the raw data using a cable or alternatively you can import the data into controller using bluetooth and then copy these data to PC.
Yes, I can download the raw data from the receiver. But I still try to set the receiver to be the logging device, so I don't need to keep the controller beside the GPS when it is receiving data.
You dont need the TSC3 controller at all for logging raw data in your R8-3 receiver.Use Trimble GPS configurator utility software for configuring your Receiver.Download and install this software, connect your Receiver to PC using theTrimble accessory cable (DB9).Open the software and connect it and go to "Log data" tab and select the required measurement interval (position interval is of no importance here unless your application demands it) and select start logging. You may be able to see screen as per the attachment i made below. This is a one time job and whenever you switch on the receiver it will start logging raw data within seconds and it will stop only when you power off the receiver.Sorry i might have missed some details to explain(Because i did this long back) but you can easily pass through this steps.
Thank you for your suggestion, I will try it later, we don't have any project with R8 GPS recently. I think it is a good way to collect data, some time the connection would be broken and we need to restart it, if I use bluetooth to log the data.
Happy Survey !
Steven you dont need any data collector or power up set up just download Trimble DL app on you android smartphone and connect to the R8M3 via Bluetooth and do your static sessions
