We are using TBC to layout BIM models in the field. The architects are providing the BIM in an IFC format, which we can import and position within TBC. The problem I am running into is that cylindrical objects come into TBC as faceted 3d polygons instead of the truly round object. This makes it nearly impossible to calculate and set usable field points for layout because the "set points on CAD" routine automatically sets a discrete point at every vertex of the faceted polygon. Typically we would set a pipe invert but I see no way of extracting this information from the IFC. Anyone have a solution to this problem?
