Recommended adaptor for USB Type-C smartphones/ tablets

07-11-2017 09:20

If your smartphone or tablet is fitted with a Type-C connector, you will need an adaptor to connect to the Catalyst antenna which uses a Micro USB to type B cable.

As not all USB Type-C adaptors are the same so to ensure performance Trimble recommends you use the Trimble Catalyst micro-B to type-C USB converter (PN 114199) which ships as part of the Catalyst DA1 antenna pack-out.

A none Trimble approved alternative is  Huawei AP52 Micro USB to USB Type-C Adaptor - this is available worldwide via most electronic online vendors.

If you are unsure what a USB Type C port looks like, take a look at the wikipedia link USB Type-C for detail

You can also look at the Hardware tab on the Shop Now page for a detailed breakdown of the adaptor types

Don't use an adaptor. They are unreliable and they break at the worst possible times. Just get yourself one of these cables. Remove the screw from inside the centre of the antenna, pry out the yellow piece and you can change the cable to USB C. Much better!
