Collision Analysis

04-12-2021 15:41

What

Use this function to analyze pipe collisions in the Water and Sewer project.
  • In the AutoCAD drawing (Map mode application of Novapoint Water and Sewer), the function draws annotations at pipe collision points and at the locations where pipes are falling short of the minimum spacing (minimum spacing between pipes is a user-specified value).
  • E.g.: Create 2 ditches: Trench #1 crossing Trench #2 as shown in the below graphical illustration.
  • Run the function Collision Analysis to check the results of the analysis.

Where

Run the function from the following location:

How

Command prompts for:

Minimum distance between objects [cm]: <0.0>: 100 Define the minimum distance for which collision analysis is to be performed.

  • The program calculates distances between objects.
  • A report of the analysis will appear on command line.
  • Application will draw annotations at the collision points and at the points where the minimum distance between pipes is short of the minimum spacing.
  • If annotation is coloured RED it means object intersect e.g. they crash.
  • If annotation is coloured YELLOW it means object do not crash but they are closer than the given minimum distance.

The annotations will be placed randomly and can be moved to desired locations. If the annotation is moved, the leader line will also be adjusted automatically.

Annotations can be removed (erased) using the function Remove Collision Annotations.
