To configure Catalyst In Collector
Unlike the process used to Configuring Catalyst In ESRI Collector Classic , adding Catalyst as a Location Provider, the latest release of ESRI Collector “Aurora” on Android (v20.1.0) and Trimble Mobile Manager (v2.3) allow Catalyst to pass position data and metadata as an integrated receiver using a configuration ESRI Collector is able to read after Catalyst has been configured by TMM.
- Ensure both Trimble Mobile Manager (TMM) v2.3 or higher and ESRI Collector (v20.1.0 or higher) are installed on your smart device from the Google Play Store.
- Plug in your Catalyst DA1 antenna cable into your smart device
- Start the Trimble Mobile Manager app and sign in using your Trimble ID
Note: If you do not have a Trimble ID, you can create one from the TMM Sign-in page. It is recommended that you use the same email address for your Trimble ID as the one you use for your ArcGIS Online account if you already have one.
4. On the home screen, you will see the Catalyst subscriptions available to your username.
Notes on Subscriptions:
- The ‘Catalyst Free’ subscription is limited to an autonomous position and is not recommended for high accuracy mapping.
- If you use Catalyst On-Demand, you must start your session before collecting any high accuracy data in Collector. All Catalyst On-Demand sessions allow for a Precision-level subscription.
- Monthly Subscriptions do not require a session to start, only signing into TMM. If your username has multiple monthly subscriptions assigned, TMM will use the highest possible precision subscription (e.g. it will automatically choose Catalyst Precision if you have both a Sub-Foot and Precision subscription assigned to your username inside Trimble License Manager)
5. Configure TMM to use Catalyst as its Position Source by navigating to Menu > Position Source. At the top, tap the window to select your GNSS receiver type. Select Trimble Catalyst.
Note: Confirm that the Device window displays either "Compatible, Connected" or "Compatible, Not Connected." If the device window displays any other than these two, your device will not be able to fully support the Catalyst receiver.
6. Confirm your real-time settings are configured by accessing the Menu > GNSS Configuration page. For this process we will keep the GNSS Correction source set to Auto (Trimble Corrections Hub).

7. Next, navigate to the Menu > Application Settings screen and Turn ON Location Sharing. If the option is not available to turn this setting on, you will be prompted with a Setup button. This will lead you to your device's Developer Options Settings where you will need to set your Mock Location app to be Trimble Mobile Manager.
8. Connect to the Catalyst antenna by returning to the Home screen and turning the slider to the ON position.
Note: If a dialog displays requesting Trimble Catalyst Service access to the Catalyst DA1 antenna, tap OK.
9. Once connected, your position will begin to converge and be provided the best correction available in your area given your active subscription level. You can check details of the position and correction data in the Menu > Status screen.
10. Once your Catalyst is receiving a position, you can switch over to ESRI Collector app. For Catalyst, you should remain connected to the receiver inside TMM and make sure Location Sharing is turned ON.
11. Open ESRI Collector from your Android device (TMM running in the background). Sign in using your specified credentials for ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
12. If you are using Catalyst on a range pole, you will change your antenna height settings within Collector Location Provider settings. Navigate to the Settings page within the Collector maps page. Then under the Location heading, select Provider. Tap the 3-dot menu on the right > Tap Details. Use this screen to edit your antenna height.
Note: Remember, do NOT include the ARP-APC offset value as this is handled automatically; you only need to specify the height of your range pole.
13. Return to the maps page and open one of your Collector Maps.
14. Your GNSS information should be displayed in a bar near the top of the page. Details of the position information can be accessed by tapping on this bar.
