Due to the rugged nature of the IP68 Sony Xperia Z4 tablet, the capless micro-USB port is not constantly powered.
To connect peripheral devices, such as the Catalyst DA1 antenna you need to manually enable the USB port.

This document outlines the 2 different methods to enable the USB port.

Method 1

1. Connect the Catalyst antenna to the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet.
2. Drag down from the top of the screen to reveal the status bar with Quick Settings icons.
   
   
   
3. Tap the Edit Quick Settings icon.
   
4. Tap and hold on the “Detect USB device” icon found in the top row of the window and drag it to the lower portion of the window (Active quick settings). Tap Close.
   
5. Tap “Detect USB device” from the Quick Settings area of the status bar to detect the Catalyst antenna.
   
6. The Catalyst apps will now recognize the connected antenna.

Method 2

1. Repeat steps 1 & 2 listed above
2. Tap the Settings icon
   
3. Tap “Device connection.”
   
   
4. Tap “USB Connectivity.”
   
   
5. Tap “Tips for connecting with USB device.”
   
   
6. Tap “Add” to add the “Detect USB device” icon to the Quick Settings status bar.
   
7. Tap “Detect USB device” from the Quick Settings area of the status bar to detect the Catalyst antenna.
   
8. The Catalyst apps will now recognize the connected antenna.
