Connecting to Bluetooth GNSS receivers in TerraFlex

With TerraFlex you can connect to most Trimble R Series receivers via Bluetooth to improve the GNSS accuracy of data you are collecting

Connecting to a Bluetooth GNSS receiver on Android:

To connect to a Bluetooth GNSS receiver on Android:

  1. Ensure your device has Bluetooth enabled and your GNSS receiver is powered on
  2. Open TerraFlex and sign in using your account credentials
  3. Open the side menu in TerraFlex using the | icon
  4. From the side menu select Settings
  5. In the Settings menu select Location Service
  6. If Bluetooth is enabled on your device it will start scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices
  7. When you see your GNSS receiver appear in the list, tap it and TerraFlex will connect
  8. TerraFlex will remember your connection and will attempt to automatically connect to the last GNSS receiver when it starts up

N.B. We don't recommend pairing with your GNSS receiver via the Android Bluetooth menu, instead pair with it from within TerraFlex as described above

Unless it is a Trimble receiver, it will not show up listed in your Locations Services, you should leave it saying "Internal". You can verify that it is working by looking at the Map screen and having someone walk around with the Bluetooth GPS receiver. You should see your position move on the screen.

Neither are needed for R1/R2.  You can connect directly to the receivers in the TerraFlex settings and the real-time corrections are defined in the Insphere/Connect project.  Once you define the receiver in the TerraFlex settings you'll have the ability to define the real-time correction.
