FAQ: What skill sets will I need in my organization to operate, manage and maintain the Quantm Enterprise system?

The following functional roles and skills are normally required to operate Quantm Enterprise:
Standard operator (Design Engineer, Geomatics, GIS or CAD operator background)
Power operator (Design Engineer, GIS or CAD operator background)
Reviewer (No pre-requisites)
Project co-ordinator/submission manager (Management experience)
IS manager (IT background with experience in managing computer networks)
These roles will be part time or full time, depending on the size of your company, number of operators, and number of projects.
A standard operator is responsible for:
Sourcing the required data including terrain data, topological data, imagery, design standards and cost information.
Creating the Quantm model
Creating scenarios based on either the operator’s skills as a planner/designer or based on input from other members of the planning team
Reviewing results
Editing alignments
The power operator undertakes the functions of a standard operator and additionally:
Loads submissions onto the Server and starts the processing
Diagnosis of inputs and results to identify operators errors that may result in unsatisfactory optimizations
The Reviewer is a member of the planning team that:
Needs to be consulted during the planning process
May be a key stakeholder or decision maker
Wants to review and/or advise on route preferences and viability
The project co-ordinator/submission manager function is responsible for establishing priorities:
Establishing processing priorities between different projects and different scenarios that may be being evaluated simultaneously.
Required for larger organizations where multiple projects are being undertaken simultaneously.
The IS manager is responsible for:
Ensuring that the network is operating to specification
All operators have sufficient domain permissions
Ensuring that the Pathfinder server is:
Dedicated
Has secure access
Managing backup procedures
Installation and upgrading of the licensed software
