nco: Select a building (defined in Novapoint Noise)
MOUS_ICO Popup menu: Fetch…

This function allows the user to fetch all buildings, all buildings within a restricted area, or all buildings with an area larger than a given minimum value into Novapoint Noise. If the buildings have been fetched to the noise module, all buildings will be represented correctly in the Novapoint Noise terrain profiles.

The identity of the buildings is automatically created, and heights are entered in the same way as for fetching single buildings. Only objects with the layer names defined for buildings in Layer name for fetching buildings are fetched.

Once the transfer of information has been completed, the user is recommended to check that the definition of buildings looks reasonable. Make sure that the roof and ridge heights are OK, and change the name of the buildings to e.g. address or name of owner.

Identity

All buildings must have an unique identity. This identity should consist of a base part and possibly a serial number.

Identity
Base part and code for location of serial number. The base may consist of a random composition of letters and other characters, except #. The character # is used to reserve space for the serial number. If one or more # exist in this field, these will during registration of buildings be replaced by the current building number, possibly by leading zeros. If there are no # in the field, there will be a space and a four digit number after Identity.

First number
The number of the first registered building.

Step
Subsequent buildings get the number of the first building (defined in First number plus the number given here.

Example 1:

  • Identity: Test
  • First number: 2
  • Step: 2
  • gives identities: Test 0002, Test 0004, Test 0006

Example 2:

  • Identity: Test##
  • First number: 1
  • Step: 1
  • gives identities: Test01, Test02, Test03

Layer names for fetching buildings
Starts the dialog Layer name for fetching buildings.

Selection

Choose whether to fetch all buildings or to fetch buildings only from a restricted area.

All buildings in drawing
When All buildings in drawing is selected, data for all buildings will be read when OK is clicked. By switching off All buildings in drawing, you can choose between selecting an existing polygon or drawing a new polygon to define the area to restrict the selection to.

Select boundary line <
All dialog boxes are closed, and a polygon may be selected directly from the drawing to restrict the buildings we want to register in Novapoint Noise. We return to the dialog box by pressing <Enter>.

Draw boundary line <
All dialog boxes are closed, and the user may draw a polygon directly to the drawing to restrict the buildings we want to register in Novapoint Noise. We return to the dialog box by pressing <Enter>.

Buildings without height information

For buildings with feature codes without defined roof height (according to Layer name for fetching buildings), a standard value may be entered for the distance between ground level and roof of the buildings.

Height ground plane - roof
This value is added to the average ground level, to get a roof height for buildings with feature codes without defined roof height.

Calculate ground heights in QUADRI
If this option is selected, the ground plane level is calculated for all buildings defined without height (height < 0) in the terrain model. Subsequently the Height ground plane - roof is added to the ground plane height.

Minimum area for fetching buildings

For each building, the area is calculated before the building is read to Novapoint Noise. The user is allowed to give a minimum value for the area of the buildings we want to read to Novapoint Noise, preventing small buildings to be included.

Area
All buildings with an area larger than the specified value (in m2) will be read to Novapoint Noise.

Prompt for each building
If this option is selected, the dialog box Small buildings will appear before buildings with a smaller area than the given minimum value may be read to Novapoint Noise.

Misc.

OK
The dialog box is closed and buildings are registered in Novapoint Noise.

Cancel
The dialog box is closed and no buildings are registered in Novapoint Noise.
