Grid volume is the most complete volume calculation method for areas outside the Road Model. It makes it possible to calculate volumes for all the areas defined by the grid model. It is also possible to divide the areas into smaller areas that have different types of formation/beds. The function can calculate up to ten different layers in the ground. The areas have to be enclosed and defined in Define areas to calculate. To calculate the volumes, the function uses a Grid Model of existing and new surfaces with bed descriptions. The result is presented graphically and a volume report (.xls or .rtf) is created.
