How To Disable Plugins, Add-Ons and Extensions In Multiple Browsers

Can browser plugins and extensions affect my connection to Trimble Connect?

If you are encountering speed, upload, download, or various interface problem with Trimble Connect it could be caused by a plugin, add-on, or extension within your browser. To see if this is the case, you can try disabling all plugins, add-ons, or extensions within your browser. These are steps on how to disable them on various browsers:

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Click the menu icon "≡" at the top left-hand corner of the browser window and choose Add-ons.
   • If you are using Windows XP, click on Tools from the menu bar near the top of the browser window and choose Add-ons.
2. Click Extensions to view the installed extensions or click Plugins to view plugins installed for your browser.
3. Disable the Extentions or Plugins one by one until the issue experienced no longer occurs.
4. Find the add-on you want to disable and click its Disable
5. Test Trimble Connect with this add-on disabled.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every add-on until you find the one the issue in Trimble Connect. Leave that one disabled and enable the rest. When you’re finished, click Close.

Google Chrome:

1. Click the menu icon "≡" at the top right of the browser window, choose More tools and choose Extensions to open the Extensions
2. Uncheck Enabled to disable an extension or lick the trash can icon next to the extension you want to delete.
3. Enter chrome://plugins in Chrome's address bar to view plugins installed for your browser.
4. Click the Disable link under the plugin you want to disable.
5. Test Trimble Connect with this add-on disabled.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every add-on until you find the one the issue in Trimble Connect. Leave that one disabled and enable the rest. When you’re finished, click Close.

Internet Explorer 11:

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
2. Tap or click the Tools icon , Tools button, and then click Manage add-ons.
3. Under Show, click All add-ons, and then select the add-on you want to turn off.
4. Click Disable to disable the add-on.
5. Test Trimble Connect with this add-on disabled.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every add-on until you find the one the issue in Trimble Connect. Leave that one disabled and enable the rest. When you’re finished, click Close. 

Internet Explorer 10:

1. Open Internet Explorer for the desktop.
2. Tap or click the Tools icon , and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
3. Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then do one of the following:
   • To disable an add-on, tap or click it, and then tap or click Disable.
4. Test Trimble Connect with this add-on disabled.
5. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every add-on until you find the one the issue in Trimble Connect. Leave that one disabled and enable the rest. When you’re finished, click Close. 

Internet Explorer 9:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools icon , and then click Manage add-ons.
3. Under Show, click All add-ons.
4. Click an add-on, and then do one of the following:
   • To turn the add-on off so it can't be used in the browser, click Disable.
5. Test Trimble Connect with this add-on disabled.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every add-on until you find the one the issue in Trimble Connect. Leave that one disabled and enable the rest. When you’re finished, click Close.
