Novapoint Terrain Library

Use this function to project the selected entities (line, polyline, or lwpolyline) to the 3D face triangle model available on the current drawing.

• The minimum requirement for this function is the 3D Face triangle model is available on the current drawing.
• Polylines having arcs cannot be used for this function.

Run the function from the following location:

MOUS_ICO Menu: Terrain > Terrain Design > Line Projection to 3Dfaces

Command prompts for:

Select objects:

Select the lines/polylines/lwpolylines, which are to be projected to the 3D face triangle model and finish with the right button of the mouse, press 'Enter' or the key 'Return'.

Command prompts for:

Follow [Terrain/MInimum/MEan/MAximum] <Terrain>:

• Press 'Enter' or 't' for Terrain: If the selected entities are required to follow the terrain surface, use this option. The selected object will be converted to a 3D polyline and projected to the terrain surface.

• Type 'mi' for Minimum: The selected entities will be projected to an elevation, which is the lowest elevation of all the 3D face triangles beneath the selected entities. All vertices of the selected entities will have the same elevation.

• Type 'me' for Mean: The selected entities will be projected to an elevation, which is the mean elevation of all the 3D face triangles beneath the selected entities. All vertices of the selected entities will have the same elevation.

• Type 'ma' for Maximum: The selected entities will be projected to an elevation, which is the highest elevation of all the 3D face triangles beneath the selected entities. All vertices of the selected entities will have the same elevation.

Command prompts for:

Erase existing lines/polylines [Yes/No] <No>:

The selected entities can be erased using the option 'Yes'. By default, selected entities will be retained (prompt option 'No'). A new 3D polyline will be created.
