Path navigation mode in Trimble Connect 3D Viewer allows you to move along linear features such as a road alignment or a centerline. This mode provides a view that follows the path, giving a continuous perspective along the selected linear object.
Load a model that contains a linear feature, such as a centerline or alignment.
Activate Path Navigation mode. From the camera controls in the top toolbar, change the default "Rotate" mode to "Path navigation". A help panel with command information will appear. You can close this for better visibility.
Select a linear feature.
To do this, hold down the Control key and use the left mouse button.
An icon that looks like a small box will appear. Use this icon to click on and select the desired linear feature in your model.
Once snapped, use the mouse wheel to scroll forward or backward along the selected path. This moves you along the centerline.
Adjust vertical position: To move your focus point up or down in the Z-direction, hold the right mouse button and drag.
Zoom in and out: Hold the Control key and use the mouse wheel to zoom. This changes the magnification of your view.
Jump to a new position or path.
Hold the Control key and click the left mouse button on a new location on the current path or on a new linear feature to instantly jump to that spot
Reset or exit the navigation mode.
Reset to default view: Click the "Snap to path" icon (crosshairs symbol) to reset your view angle and elevation to the default position on the path.
