Trimble Connect Product Updates

There is a new version of the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer available at web.connect.trimble.com.

Version identifier for this release 4.4.0. To load the new version to your browser, click the refresh link when the version update message is displayed.

Important information for all Workspace API integrations:

If you are consuming the Workspace API to create extensions, or for embedding the Connect 3D viewer, please see important actions you must take before the end of Q1 / 2023: see post in the Connect API Integrators forum.

This version update has new features:

New XYZ Axes visualization with interactive controls: See the new visualization in the lower right corner of the 3D view. You can click on the spheres to turn the camera. 

Account level data table presets: Now the Account Admin role can create Data Table Presets into the Account Admin dashboard and apply the same preset to multiple projects quickly. 

Account Admin workflow for creating account level data table presets:

1. Log in as Account Admin. Only the Account Admin can create account level presets.
2. Open a project in the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer
3. Create a new preset in the data table (see user guide)
4. Click Save as… and select the “Save as account preset” option
   1. 
5. Note that now the new preset is marked as an Account preset and it’s listed under the Account Presets section:

Account Admin workflow for applying the account level preset into multiple projects

1. Log in as Account Admin
2. Open the Account Admin dashboard
3. Click Data Table Presets. All data table presets that were saved as account presets are listed here.
4. Click “Add to projects” button for the preset that you wish to apply to projects
5. A list of all projects associated with the account is presented. Select all projects you want to apply the preset to.
6. Click Apply
7. Now the preset is visible in the data table for all users in the selected project(s)

Account Admin workflow for editing account level preset

1. Log in as Account Admin. Only the account admin can edit account level presets.
2. Open any project where the account level data table preset is applied to using the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer
3. Open Data table and start editing the account level data table preset
4. Click Save 
5. The change is immediately saved to all projects where the account level data preset is visible

Project User workflow for viewing account level data table preset

1. Log in as a project user
2. Open a project in the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer
3. Open the Data table
4. Open the Add or Remove Columns Dialog
5. Available account level data table presets are listed in the Presets selector under the Account Presets section

Project User workflow for making changes to account level data table presets

1. The project user cannot edit an account level data table preset
2. However, the project user can make edits to the account level data table preset and click Save as… which will then save the edits as a new project level preset

This version update has fixes:

• Fixed an issue where the left side tab bar swiping did not work on mobile devices
• Fixed an issue where measuring very small angles (< 1.0 degrees) sometimes failed
• Fixed an issue where two versions of the same model were displayed in 3D at the same time if the user was viewing an older version of a model and then activated a rule based organizer group that had the same model in the rule
