Trimble Connect 3D Viewer 1.0.194 - Release Note - June 7, 2021

There is a new version of the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer available at
https://3d.connect.trimble.com. Version identifier for this release is: 1.0.194

To load the new version to your browser, click the refresh link when the version update message is displayed.

This version update contains new features:

  • New sign-in experience provided by the upgraded Trimble Identity

  • In the Organizer panel, it is now possible to select multiple groups on a touch screen device by long pressing the group. In other words, to select more than one group, touch and hold the group name.

This version update contains improvements and fixes:

  • Improved how the measurement labels are rendered. Now,
    • Labels are hidden only if they overlap each other. This way the labels typically stay visible longer when zooming out
    • if the user selects a measurement/dimension line, then the label is always shown
  • Improved clip plane controls:
    • Now it’s possible to choose the active clip plane with the Tab key, and then move the active clip plane by holding down the Shift key and scrolling the mouse wheel
    • This enables moving the clip plane even when the clip plane icon is out of the screen borders after zooming in
  • Improved measurement tool controls:
    • When the measurement tool is active, holding down the SHIFT key makes the measurement vertical
    • This improvement makes it quicker to create vertical measurements by just holding down the SHIFT key instead of clicking the “Use alternate” button after creating the measurement
  • In the Organizer panel, it’s now possible to select a range of multiple groups by holding down the Shift key
  • When selecting a group in the Organizer while holding down the Ctrl key, also the subgroups are automatically selected now
  • Fixed an issue where the version date was incorrect in the version history panel
  • Fixed an issue where the file download option was not always visible in the models panel
  • Fixed an issue where a View was not getting updated correctly
  • Workspace API:
    • Trimble Identity Upgrade: Mandatory change for integrations that are embedding the viewer application When the application is loaded inside an iFrame, valid tokens must be provided in the query parameters of the application URL that is set to the iFrame. Then, extensions should listen to the "extension.sessionInvalid" event and update the tokens accordingly.
      • Immediate workaround is to sign in to 3d.connect.trimble.com on a separate browser tab
    • Removed deprecated "ConnectUser.idToken" property, from UserAPI.
    • Removed deprecated "getAccessToken" API, from ViewerAPI. "requestPermission" API should be used instead.
    • Undeprecated "setAccessTokens" API, from ViewerAPI. This method should be used to set valid tokens, in case the tokens that were previously set expire.
    • Added "extension.sessionInvalid" event; emitted when the tokens that were set expired and the session cannot be refreshed. When this event is emitted, new valid tokens must be acquired and then set using the "setAccessTokens" API.
    • Added "extension.sessionLogOut" event; emitted when the user logs out from inside the application.
    • Fixed an error when loading multiple plugins

@Jari Juntunen,

Would you mind pointing me in the direction of the correct forum?
I would like to think there is a solution for this problem other than uninstalling and using the previous version?

Thanks,
R.

@Ramon Escriva, thank you for the feedback. The attached screen capture is from Connect for Windows application. This release note is for the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D viewer (https://3d.connect.trimble.com/). In general, switching between different versions of the Connect for Windows application is possible by uninstalling the current version and then running the installer of the version that you wish to install. In the Connect for Browser application, switching between versions is not possible as the cloud delivers the latest application version to the browser.

Could you contact connect-support@trimble.com so our team can help analyze the problem?

Thank you and best regards,
Jari

Hi, I have just updated to this version.
Is there a way to go back to the previous 3D view?

Now on translucid view the objects that overlap disappear showing the object behind. See snapshot.

Is there a way of solving this?
Thanks,
R.
