There is a new version of the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer available at  https://3d.connect.trimble.com. Version identifier for this release is: 1.5.9

To load the new version to your browser, click the refresh link when the version update message is displayed.

This version update contains new features:

Angle measurement tool: Use the new angle measurement tool to measure angles. To create an angle measurement, first snap to a point that is the vertex, then pick 2 other points to measure the angle between them. Alternatively, first snap to a line or face and then snap to a second line or face to measure the angle between them. Note that the picked line and face must intersect with each other in order for the angle measurement to be possible. Go to Settings → Unit settings → Angle to adjust the unit and display precision for the angle measurement.

This version update contains improvements:

  • Icon clustering is improved: now, when there is a large number of attachments in the model more icons are clustered together so that the icons don’t obstruct the model visibility:
  • There is a new option in the models panel: when in “Selected models” mode, the model “three dot” menu contains a new option “Find in file tree”. When clicking this option, the models panel switches to the “Everything in project” mode and expands the folder that contains the model
  • There are new options in the “Visibility controls” toolbar: Annotations, Clip plane cut edge highlight and Clip plane icon and borders
  • There is a new option in the Models panel: the model level “three dot” menu contains a new option: “Model hierarchy”. This option is a shortcut for switching the Models panel into the “Selected models” mode where model hierarchy browsing is available.
  • Now it’s possible to zoom into a background image. For example, if a 360 jpeg image is displayed, it’s possible to zoom into the background image using the normal mouse wheel
  • Now when a new user opens the 3D viewer for the first time, or if the browser cache is cleared, the “IFC spaces” visibility option is hidden by default in the Visibility control toolbar → IFC element types → Spaces
  • Currently the 3D viewer optimizes 3D rendering speed by not rendering the backsides of objects if they cannot be seen from the camera position. Now, there is a new option that forces the viewer to render the backsides: Set the Model transparency slider in the toolbar to its minimum value → the viewer renders also the normally hidden backsides
  • The color picker now allows creating custom colors and adding them to the palette:

This version update contains fixes:

  • Fixed a graphics rendering issue where rebars and pipes didn’t render correctly at certain camera distances and angles resulting in “flickering” when moving the camera
  • Fixed an issue where a view created in browser 3D looked different when opening in TC for Windows if the view had hidden and color-overridden objects in it
  • Fixed an issue where attachments didn’t load in the attachment panel in certain case
  • Fixed an issue where editing a ToDo with “Due Date” set was not possible
  • Fixed an issue where rearranging the views tiles inside the views group by dragging & dropping failed
