Trimble Catalyst now supports use with Android devices with USB-C connectors out-of-the-box

10-11-2018 09:44

Trimble is pleased to announce the introduction of a new customized adapter cable (PN: 114199) for the Trimble Catalyst DA1 antenna. The new accessory enables use the DA1 antenna to be connected to Android devices with either a USB micro-B or USB-C connector.

Performance and Compatibility

The adapter supports both Android Open Accessory (AOA) mode (where DA1 behaves as a USB Host device, and provides its own power) and USB On-The-Go (OTG) mode (where DA1 behaves as an accessory, and draws charge from the connected USB OTG phone or tablet). This is a level of compatibility not offered by the majority of USB micro-B to USB-C adapters available off-the-shelf or as conventionally supplied with phones or tablets equipped with a USB-C connector, and so ensures maximum flexibility and compatibility between devices for users of the Catalyst system.

Availability and Pricing

This adapter cable is available immediately, and has been added as a standard accessory of the Trimble Catalyst DA1 digital antenna packout (PN: 106695-00). The purchase price of the DA1 antenna packout has not changed.

The accessory is also available for purchase separately as an optional spare or replacement part (PN: 114199). Shipping is available worldwide. Refer to your local Trimble Partner Store for pricing.

Hi Gale

Yes, the Type-C adaptors have been shipping in the Catalyst DA-1 pack out as far back as October 2018.

  • If your early inventory predates this then the packout's will not contain the adaptor.
  • If you have received any Catalyst hardware after this date that does not include the adaptors then please take it up with the order/support team to have this resolved

Are these truly shipping in the factory pack out now?  Early inventory did not have them we know.  Did this change actually happen?  THANKS
