Trimble Connect Product Updates

There is a new version of the Trimble Connect for Browser 3D Viewer available at  https://3d.connect.trimble.com. Version identifier for this release is: 1.1.1

To load the new version to your browser, click the refresh link when the version update message is displayed.

Visible objects view mode in the data table

The data table has a new view mode. When the visible objects mode is selected, the data table displays data only for objects that are currently visible in the 3D space. Objects that are hidden with the hide feature in 3D, are not displayed in the data table.

Attachments improvements

The attachments feature has received functional and performance improvements that benefit use cases where very high amount of attachments are linked to model objects:

• The 3D model stays responsive (can zoom, rotate etc.) while loading the attachments and the loading indicator is displayed
  • 
• Populating the attachment panel content is faster
• In the attachment settings (Settings → Display and performance → Attachments) the default setting is increased to max 20 000 and maximum setting is increased to 50 000 
  • 
• When the number of attachments in the panel is high, a “Go to” selector is shown to allow quickly jumping between attachments
  • 
• A warning message is displayed to the user if more attachments are detected that can be loaded without impacting the performance. Also, an option to disable attachments is given to allow users who do not necessarily have to work with attachment to maintain a fast viewing experience:

Other improvements and fixes:

• Now the viewer does not render edge lines between geometry instances of the same entity. This improves the visual quality of terrain models used in civil engineering.
• Fixed an issue with attachments where the "View in new window" option was not working when clicking an attachment
• Fixed an issue where the view name tooltip was not showing if the view was part of a view group
• Fixed an issue where certain views created in Connect for Windows were not shown correctly
• Fixed an issue where measurement tool was snapping through walls in certain cases with DWG and RVT models
• Fixed an issue where selecting a steel beam with concrete core did not select both entities in assembly selection mode even though they were part of the same assembly
