Trimble Connect File Services - Introducing File-level permissions

05-14-2025 08:02

Until today, permissions to Trimble Connect files have been managed only on the folder level.

Therefore, on May 13, 2025, Trimble Connect introduced file-level permissions in addition to folder-level permissions.

As a result, project admins can now flexibly add more specific permissions on individual files when needed. The access levels supported are the current Read Only and Full Access. Files in Trimble Connect still inherit the permissions of the containing folder.

See the File Permissions documentation for more information.

Notice! On larger-scale projects and folder hierarchies, we still recommend managing permissions by setting user group-specific permissions on the folder level.

This is the first part in our series on feature updates to Trimble Connect File Services - stay tuned...

Hi @Veni Lillkåll,

Is it possible to set permissions for read-only files but not download them?

I mean a model file such as .trb or .ifc.
