Jan 20, 2021Trimble Connect for MobileAndroid | iOS | v2.14 Connect for Mobile v2.14 is now available. Our focus was to bring the new 3D viewer on par with the legacy 3D Viewer. We have retired the legacy 3D Viewer with this release. Hence we request all users to move over to the latest version. After about a month from now (about 20-Feb-2021) , the models will not get processed or load in the legacy 3D viewer. NEW New Features/Improvements 1. Layers You can now see layers (option from left panel) for models in the new 3D viewer. This will help you hide/unhide Layers and carry out further operations. 2. Automatic sums for favorite properties You can mark preferred object properties as favorites in the new 3D Viewer. Upon multi-select, the favorite properties will add up (depending on the type of property. 3. Categories Option Categories from Tekla can now be seen and filtered in Connect’s new 3D Viewer. 4. Views with latest File Version 1. Views will be opened with the latest file version 2. However, if an older file version(for a View) is detected, you will be able to download the latest version. 5. Grids Enabling/Disabling Grids is added in the new 3D viewer Bug fixes On Enabling “Select assemblies” the objects will be displayed instead of Assemblies when selecting an assembly. Linking a 3D Object to new Todo was not attaching embedded view. This is fixed now. Known Issues /Limitations General App gets crashed at times for the very first launch of the project/models. Slowness is observed at times when switching between tabs (Data/Todo/View /Team). Slowness is observed while displaying the “Statuses” option in the right dragger of the model viewer screen. Projects list sync progress may be slower, in case of a long list of projects Edit hint text is not displayed for Vertical clip-plane Default color not ticked in 2D viewer color palette Image attachment from the camera/Gallery is getting rotated 90 degrees after sync. GlobalIds that are received from assimilation does not match between TCM/TCW/TCD. Due to this links created will not be visible across clients for non-Ifc formats. UI in tablets is shown in compatible mode. Revit file assimilation will have issues Layer list may be inconsistent for views shared across Connect clients.. Files for which processing is not completed will be shown with empty thumbnails. Quick Access project sync may be sometimes slow when we get back to Project screen Opening Todos occasionally have performance issues. During the first time launch, when we change region, a manual pull to refresh will be needed for list of Projects to display New 3D Viewer File download is sometimes slow. But this behavior is inconsistent[~10 secs]. Multiselect object views are not displayed as a selected state for specific devices(iPad) Model alignment values set from other clients are not properly reflected in TCM. Size of the measurement values might be bigger for tablets. Unit settings are not applied (at times) to measurement value. Views View parity issues exist across Connect clients. These are observed for markups, color, transparency, selection states, orthographic projection and global transparency. Models with more than 2500 object links tend to make the model render slower. Views created using multiple models with show/hide model have issues.. There may be inconsistency when seen in other clients. User has to tap “Show all” to view all the models on screen. Performance issues on Views list screen. Views are not deleted from the server even after the associated ToDo is deleted. But users will be able to delete views after detaching from ToDo.
