Customers using the older, retired Trimble® Positions™ Desktop add-in or TerraFlex® Desktop add-in are advised to upgrade as soon as possible to Trimble Terra™ Office. In addition to continued support for ArcGIS® Desktop, Terra Office is also available for ArcGIS Pro so customers are prepared for the coming retirement of ArcGIS Desktop. Terra Office adds support for Offline GNSS Corrections, a new automated workflow for delivering high-accuracy GIS data capture in a wider range of locations and difficult GNSS environments than was previously possible. The service streamlines and simplifies high-accuracy data collection by automatically post-processing the GNSS data captured during field operations without any complicated set-up. With Trimble Offline GNSS Corrections, users get the benefit of post-processing without any of the hassle, resulting in more accurate positions, more of the time, with less effort. For customers with cloud data restrictions, Terra Office also enables Local Project workflows in TerraFlex for file-based data transfer of projects and collected forms, avoiding the use of Trimble cloud services.
The older add-ins will only function with TerraFlex Cloud workflows through March 31, 2025 at which point customers will no longer be able to download collected TerraFlex forms or publish new TerraFlex projects. Customers should plan to upgrade well before this date.
Trimble Terra Office is available for both ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop. Licensing of Terra Office software is controlled through per-user Trimble Identity-based entitlements. Both the Terra Office add-in for ArcGIS Pro and the Terra Office add-in for ArcMap product require a Terra Office Standard subscription license. A single entitlement (license) can be used by the same user for both products.
