WorksOS Release Notes - May 2022

New & Improved

This Trimble WorksOS release includes these new features and enhancements:

Calculations

  • Improved volume calculations using finer tolerances - All volume calculations in WorksOS now have finer tolerances for increased accuracy. The previous tolerance was 0.05 m (0.016 ft); this has been tightened to 0.001 m (0.003 ft).

This change means that small volume differences between the 'From' and 'To' surfaces that were equal to or less than the previous tolerance of a 0.05 m difference were not counted in the Volume calculation. The new tolerance of
0.001 m means that any volume difference equal to or within 0.001 m will now be included in the Volume calculation.

Calculations previously made in these areas will now have different results:

  • Dashboard
  • Map Page
  • Progress Volumes
  • Activities

See the comparative image on the next page.

Comparison of the same volume calculation with the old and new tolerance

Note:  Notice the increase in the Cut, Fill, and Total Volume values, as well as the increase in the stated Coverage area. These areas of the volume calculation, that were previously ignored due to the tolerance settings, are now included.

Note:  This tolerance change does not impact any volume differences greater than the old tolerance of 0.05 m (0.16 ft) as they always were, and still will be, counted in WorksOS volumes calculations.

Filters

  • Multiple Machine Designs can now be selected within a filter - Multiple Machine Design filters can now be selected and used to filter the data inside of WorksOS (previously only a single Machine Design filter could be applied).

Fixed

WorksOS also deployed fixes for reported or discovered cases in which:

  • There are no critical bug fixes to mention for this release.
