@Jack de Moel

Can you walk me through the steps you are doing for uploading a skp file?

The process is a little confusing right now - it should be:

  1. Upload skp file in TCWindows (locally)
  2. After assimilation ---> upload to server
    1. The file will automatically try to be converted from the backend at this point - which is where you might be having issues
  3. Manually convert the SKP file again in TC Windows

  4. Reupload to the server.

Hi  @Jack de Moel

Are you following the steps for uploading skp 2021 files (as documented in the Windows release notes - at the very end) and it is still not working?

If so, can you list the steps you are doing to upload your skp file?

yeah,  working on Windows  using the desktop app to upload, so, the other question would be:

Will there be a Trimble Connect desktop version for Mac :)

I not that familiar with the desktop app (Mac user), these where my steps:

  • Restart through Bootcamp, opened the desktop app
  • Added the file in the app
  • select and hit the yellow view button
  • viewed the file
  • back in the explorer, hit the synchronise button (left of the yellow)
  • Checked in browser, file was not there
  • back in the desktop, hit the upload files button
  • In the browser, file was there, but got the message "Failed to upload"
  • Back in the Desktop, hit the view, rightclicked and clicked the 'Retry file conversion'  button, not on the Model-level, but on the Folder level(!)
  • All files in that folder where reconverted and displayed in the viewer.
  • clicked all the buttons to sync and upload files.
  • Back in the browser, it worked...

Thanks Jack,

So on the 2nd upload to browser, the file is loading ok?

The issue you described with the first upload not working is a known issue (see point 2.1 in my previous comment). The skp 2021 converter is in TCWindows only for now, so on the first time uploading to the server - the backend will create a TRB file but this will fail because the processing engine on the server does not have support for 2021 yet. The second time you upload the SKP file the trb file from TCWindows will replace the failed file on the server.
