Hi Gilbert, The community,
Hereby thanking Marco for raising the issue.
Accessing Navis files in the TRIMBLE ecossystem would definitely render BIM processes more integrated, interoperable, fluid.
- To follow up , I'm sharing experience on recent tests.
Model 1 (converted-visible) : 16.96 Mb. Complexe Geometry -Readable.
Model 2 (failed) : 370 Kb. Simple geometry. Failed.
Direct cloud upload was used here.
2. Details:
2.1 As per the community's suppport message,
Navis shall be appended to the Wished Project via Trimble Connect Desktop access.
Next : ->Conversion->Local-Cloud Folder syncronisation.

2.2 Other notes :
"The Navisworks model viewing is released as a BETA feature.
In this stage of the BETA period, the NWD & NWC file formats support plain 3D viewing only. The files cannot be used in other workflows, like for example in creating Views, ToDos or Clash checks. Also, there may be some models that are not rendered correctly or some property data may be incomplete."
Let us follow up and support this important issue.
Best regards,
Enea KOTSA.

Hi Hoa,
Thank you for the information on TC. I went into the NWD and removed the Point Cloud I had referenced in and it was able to open up in TC. It would seem as though TC does not like Point Cloud information, so it is working now.

Hi
I just tested TC can open NWD file size greater than 10Mb, you need waiting to TC process navisworks model before view model.
Best regards,
Hoa

Hi Marco,
Thank you for the reply. It is only a 10MB file, so maybe it needs to be pared down more. I will keep messing around with it then, maybe I will eventually get it to load on the XR10.

Hello Gilbert,
nothing else to do. I see it's still in beta version, I would first try with a small Navis model/few parts file. At the moment I didn't have any issues with it, even with bigger files.

Hi @Marco Perazzo I updated TC and am still unable to view NWD's. It comes in red and the conversion has failed. Is there anything else that I need to do?

Hello Filip,
I see the last version of TC supports the Navisworks .nwd files! Finally! This give also the option to import Navisworks files in Tekla Structures too. You can save in Trimble Connect the Naviswork file in .trb format and then import it in Tekla Structures. #navisworks #navisworktotekla #TrimbleConnect

Trimble Connect Development team is there any progress on this? Will it be supported in any near future?
