Publishing SketchUp Files in Trimble Connect: Layers (Tags)

When I publish a SketchUp simple (i.e. un-nested) model component objects with Tags are assigned to Layers in TrimbleConnect.

However, if a component object comprises a number of unassigned (i.e. untagged) nested objects within it but has no content in the highest level of the nest, this Tag attribution is not recognised by TrimbleConnect and all sub-objects are assigned to Layer0.

Is there a way of avoiding this behaviour in published SketchUp models, i.e. so TrimbleConnect assigns the object to it's highest Tag as a Layer?

Example:
* A door component comprises a door frame and a door panel as nested sub-components
* The door frame and door panel are unassigned, i.e have not Tag
* The door component (which nests door panel and door frame) is assigned with a Tag called 'Door'
* When published in Trimble Connect, the component is not assigned to a Layer called 'Door', the sub-components are simply assigned to Layer0
