These functions describe the different subsurface layers and materials with cut slope and levels /depths.
In this palate the user can set up the types of subsurface layers the projects contains. The cut slope parameters for each subsurface layer are shown in the right column. It is possible to describe up to 5 different subsurface layers in one project. The cut slope is set under Calculation settings. There are two different principles for describing subsurface layers in Novapoint.
To define a subsurface layer expand the material group and point in the material type. The dialog box Material will pop up.
There are 5 different types of materials to select from, and each type of material has 5 choices. The point at the + sign in front of the material type and the dialog shows all 5 available layers for the material:
Select the subsurface layer and press the button 'OK'. The selected material will appear in the dialog box Material.
Subsurface layer 1 will always start at level 0.
For subsurface layer 2 till 5 the users can also decide Level or Depth. If a positive number is defined, the function will interpret this as a fixed depth from the subsurface layer above. Point in the field for Depth/Level to get a drop-down menu showing all the layers defined in the terrain model. If the slope surfaces are calculated based on a grid file, both level 0 and level 1 have to be active in the terrain model to generate the grid file.
Note: If level 1 is used with the triangle method, it could be vice to triangulate the subsurface layer before the slope surface calculations are carried. You do not need to make a triangle model of the surface!
The palate 'Slope Surface' enables the user to define the names of the 25 available ground materials.
