Preview a Design on a Background Map When viewing a design, it's crucial to understand its context on the actual construction site. The design preview background map feature provides this real-world information. In the Info pane for a selected design, you can see a map tile showing the design in the geographic context of the job site and the world. You can zoom, pan, and toggle between terrain and satellite imagery view modes in the preview. For more detail, you can open the preview in full-screen mode, where you can also orbit the default ‘bird’s-eye’ view and choose between orthographic and perspective modes. Prerequisites: an imported ...

We presume you liked the file explorer feature we released for the Siteworks, and Groundworks. We are happy to inform you that we are extending the feature to Earthworks as well. Now, w hen you select any E arthworks device from Account > Devices page, t he workflow starts with the ' Machine Data' folder . T his mimics the TCC file/ folder structure . You can then access the Project Library filespace from here. However, since TCC filespace is common for all machines, it shows up project s data across all machines in the account (and not specific to the ...

Summary WorksManager and Trimble Earthworks 2.14 supports new enhanced communication channels. This new functionality uses bidirectional real time communication to deliver project settings and designs to devices, and enables the device to transmit the status back to the office. Having a bidirectional communication channel enables users of WorksManager to view the status of project settings and designs for supported devices, without having to contact the operator. Benefits Earthworks devices are now notified of relevant project settings and designs from WorksManager in real time rather than having to wait for timed check in. This allows for delivery ...

Background - Today, there is no easy way to work with devices from a different account in your project. You have to either add the devices to your account, which would consume additional device licenses (or) create copies of the same project in different accounts, and manage each account devices separately, which would be very inefficient Introducing ‘shared devices’ feature - You can now invite devices from different accounts into a single project. Workflow - This workflow involves 3 basic steps Invite a partner account Share devices with the partner account Assign shared devices into project From here on, ...

Background : Today, in WorksManager, you can archive/unarchive designs & design versions manually anytime. In addition, the system auto-archives when there are more than 3 design versions, retaining the last three versions and archiving the rest. However, there have been requests to be able to auto-archive all older versions and retain just the latest version. Introducing ‘auto-archive all older design versions’ option in project settings - You can now apply ‘auto-archive all older design versions’ settings in WorksManager by selecting the Project > Settings page. For existing projects, this remains unchecked by default. You can go to the settings ...

Background : Legacy machine control devices (CB4x0 running GCS900) do not have the construct of projects inside the Machine Control Data folder (unlike Earthworks/ Siteworks/ Groundworks). Hence, designs of all projects exist together inside the parent folder. In an attempt to bring the project context, when we introduced WorksManager for GCS, we prefixed the project name before the design name. While this was valuable, it resulted in longer design names in the control box, with the operator struggling to find the right design/ version (as the entire design name was not visible). We need a way to give project context to GCS designs, while keeping the design ...
